buy	The group behind this name was formed by 2RQue and C-HELL-O.S in 1993. They came to think of a "real" name for a project-turned-to-group, and being influenced by the music they listened to (Public enemy,RUN DMC,NWA,2 Live Crew...) they decided that their name should consist of numbers and letters forming one word. Searching through a dictionary, 2RQUE ran into the word "fortune", which in slang can be written as 4TUNE (in that form it has many meanings, such as: happiness, wealth, 4 melodies, 4 tuna fishes...) and came to agree to name themselves that way.

In 1995 the same guilty part who introduced 2RQUE to CHELLOS, introduces them to his friend, then a member of a DJ movement "DEZINTEGRA", DJ Thumb. With him being a techno DJ, the musical expression of the band begins to change and gets the techno flavour, which resembles to the sound of the early Breakbeat and jungle. Among the songs created in that period are "Belgrade jungle", "Poison", "I can't stop lovin motherfuckers"...
1996/1997 the group works harder and harder and publishes its first independent release "Da Gamez Ouhwere" (in a limited number of copies) featuring the tracks "Tursija", "Black pipe", "Stressed out"... Those years they collaborated with various artists.
In 1998 4TUNE publish their second independent release named "C:/MUSIC/IT212>IT" with radio hits "I remember you", "Commercial crossover", "Destroyed thoughts"... During this period the group films their first videos. The first live appearances occur with the 4TUNE BAND consisting of: Nikola Narandzic (ACME), Predrag Viric-Brale, Bojan Vasic and Branko Jovancic alongside 2RQUE, CHELLOS and DJ THUMB.
In 1999 during the NATO bombing the band works on their new album. At the end of the year the group is joined by a lead singer, Vanja Milinkovic who works with them on a couple of tracks ("Timeprison" being the most important), and a new guitarist Danilo Govorusic.
2001 marks a tight collaboration between projects 4TUNE and SIMA which gives birth to the track "Udahni duboko Y2K" and leads to SIMA becoming the 4th tuna, as the band's rap and MC vocal. In that new structure of the group songs "Imam" and "Kao" (with Bojan Lung on trumpet) are produced.
In 2002 the band signs a contract for their first official release "JEFFREY LIM AND MEN WITH SACKS GOES INTO MISSFORTUNED SPACE-KO?" (Ammonite records). A few singles were released from this album, and tracks "Kao" and "Imam" were followed by videos which did very well with the audience. These singles topped the charts of all relevant music stations, who were very interested in this type of sound- a mix of electro genres and hip hop (like Roni Size, Big Bud etc.)
