Ray Lugo treated his fans with another groovy collection of remixes of his well known songs, launched on 6th of August 2018 on CD, BLACK vinyl, BLUE vinyl and digital, released through European independent sublabel Electrolite records, a division of Ammonite Music.

After numerous collaborations with some of the finest names of today’s music, such as Manu Di Bango, Chic, Joe Bataan, Charlie Hunter, Seun Kuti, Pete Rodriguez, Richie Ray, Kutiman, Bosq y La Candela All-Stars, Gilles Peterson, Beat Fanatic, Faze Action, Roy Davis Jr., Diesler, Lack of Afro, Shuya Okino, Souljazz Orchestra and with members of groups such as Peter Gabriel, Lauryn Hill, Matisyahu, Esperanza Spalding, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, King Sunny Ade, Burning Spear, Egypt 80, Grupo Fantasma, Antibalas and many others, Ray Lugo decided to invite some prominent international DJs and producers of his choice to do their alchemy with his songs. As a result, here is “Family Remixes” – a collection of ten fresh remixes done by Navigatorz, Valique & Funky Junky, Mr. Bird, Jack & Jointz, Fradinho, Chaman Diaz, Ian Toole, N2B and Omegaman – out there to turn every working hour or a ride into a party, and to boost each party into a vortex phase.

Navigatorz, an music project by Noboywhat of well known electro indie band INTRUDER from Serbia, and Kobajagee owner of Ammonite records indie label. They producing beats, grooves and much more…They are playing music as an DJ team as well in bars and clubs in Serbia and Balkan region.


Valique is a well known DJ, producer and multi instrumentalist located in Moscow with more than 100 productions and remixes under his belt, and owner of Vehicle Records. Funky Junkie is one of the most famous DJs, record collector and producer not just in Serbia but also in ex Yugoslavia countries, also one of the musical directors for Nishville Jazz Festival.


Steve Bird A.K.A. Mr. Bird is originally from Newcastle/UK, living in Lisbon/Portugal since 2009. His first two albums were released on the Brighton based labels Frequent Sounds and Hertz Recordings, and on the strength of the 1st album were invited to record a session for John Peel at the BBC Maida Vale Studios in 2002. In 2014, he released an album of original lo-fi soul with UK soul singer Greg Blackman in 2014 on BBE Records, following up in 2016 and 2017 with 2 more 12”s with Greg Blackman released on Ramrock Blue Records remixed by Tom Moulton and Ashley Beedle.


Jack & Jointz is a German-based music-production duo cooperating since 2015. Quincy Jointz is one of the leading German producers and DJs of NuFunk, best known for „Lime Sorbet compilations“. The other member, Jack, is the musical and studio mastermind of the project. Together they create a clubby dance music with catchy melodies. Their 2016s debut album „Beaming jointly with delight“ featured top-vocalists like Ashley Slater (1990s hit “Turn on, tune in, cop out”, former member of Freak Power together with Fatboy Slim), Scarlett Quinn (Kitten & the Hip), Red Star Lion (Dub Pistols) and more.


Fradinho (Rui Fradinho) is a DJ and producer from Lisbon/Portugal, living in London since 2008. He was a resident DJ at Sociedade Anonima/Lisbon at the age of 16-22, played drums and keyboards in a band and in 2005 he started producing his own original and remixed tracks. His musical base stems from a diverse range of music: rock to pop, house to techno, through jazz, soul, funk, world music, hip hop, drum and bass and from breakbeat to his main passion and current music production focus, broken beat / nu jazz. Highlights of his DJ career so far: residency at Bicaense Cafe and Lux club in Lisbon, a stint on London’s Back2BackFM, playing at Dalston’s Club Makossa and at Birmingham’s BrukUp broken beat night.

Chaman Diaz (Puerto Rico/USA)

Ale Cruz A.K.A. Chaman Diaz a well known DJ, music producer and remixer from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Started as a hip hop producer for El Sindicato and various hip hop projects including Raices, Banco Popular special. He is currently playing soulful, afro house &caribbean rhythms.


Ian Toole is an electronic music DJ & producer from USA. He is a multiinstrumentalist musician, educated in classical and jazz composition. He is experimenting with using the framework and concepts of electronic music while using field recordings, live instruments, and altered source audio to create music that functions on the dancefloor while maintaining a unique sound. For a decade he played and recorded with Kokolo Afrobeat Orchestra.


N2B made his first steps into music when he was a kid, listening to Weather Report, Jaco Pastorius and jazz in general. In the 90’s he entered the Italian hip hop movement as MC. He decided to go back to his roots in the year 2006 with funk, soul and disco. He never stopped diggin’ in the crates, searching for obscure disco to perform his dj gigs. The infamous Moxa club discovered him and gave him a 2 years residence, allowing him to play with legendary djs like Moodymann and Frankie Knuckles, to name a few. His research is now focused on 80’s italian music and he released some cool edits alongside the disco don Dj Rocca.


Marc Scully A.K.A. Omegaman comes from Sydney, Australia. He is the first artist outside of Washington DC to release on Fort Knox Recordings. The renegade funk’n’soul label from the US Capital is the perfect home for Omegaman as he explores the boundaries of funky breakbeats, latin and reggae vibes. He used to be a bassist with bands MX Warheads, Love Rodeo, Deadly Hume, Nick Barker & The Reptiles & RATCAT. After many years of touring, Marc moved to DJing & music production under the Omegaman moniker.  He released tens of albums, EPs and singles, having cooperated with the likes of Empresarios, See-I, Nappy Riddem, All Good Funk Alliance, Ursula 1000, BadBoe, Brand New Heavies, Skeewiff, Fretless, Basement Freaks, Quasamodo, Los Chicos Altos, The King Rocker feat. Aloe Blacc, Maya Jupiter & Carlos Mora, Rephrase, Quincy Jointz, Jayl Funk, Fuzzbox Inc, Lakeshore Drive, Resin Dogs, Second Sky, Thomas Blondet, Tal M Klein, Dogo Argentino, Liquidis Ambiento, etc.
